Astralis star Nicolai "device" Reedtz is the recipient of the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award of the ECS Season 5 Finals by HLTV.org and betway.
The Danish AWPer capped off a fantastic tournament in style as he put in a 1.11 rating to inspire Astralis to pick up a 2-0 victory over Liquid in the final. The 22-year-old was key in his team's 16-14 victory on Mirage (1.30 rating), just like he had been against the North Americans in the group stage (1.72) and in the Train game against FaZe (1.32), in the semi-finals.
device beat off competition from Liquid's Keith "NAF" Markovic to take the prize, with both players leaving London after posting the joint highest rating in the tournament, 1.30.
Besides co-leading the event's rating charts, device had the best opening kill per round ratio (0.19) and the highest success in opening duels (71.4%). He was also one of the hardest players to kill, averaging 0.60 deaths per round, and was in the top five in players with the highest damage dealt per round (85.6).
This is the sixth MVP award claimed by device, the second at ECS events after also scooping the honour in Astralis' title-winning campaign back in Season 2.
